Whatever Happened To “ObamaCare: It’s.The. Law.”?

Remember the arrogant, flippant, “we won–get over it!” Obama White House?

tweet wh its the law

This was the White House’s “gotcha” contribution to a Twitter hastag #ObamaCareInThreeWords, way, way back in…MAY. That’s right–just two months ago, Obama’s message was “It’s. The. Law.”

I guess the reply should be “Not. Until. 2015.” Followed by. “If. You’re. Lucky.”

President Obama’s problem is the limitation Twitter puts on your ability to communicate. You can’t get “It’s The. Law. (or at least some significant parts of it will be the law for some employers and their non-smoking employees of a certain age, depending on what state they live in)” in a single tweet.

Oh, and about that Judge Dredd reference:

Natural Truth of the Day

For several months now, whenever the topic of enrollment in the Affordable Care Act came up, I've been saying that it was too soon to tell its ultimate effects. We don't know how many people have paid for their new insurance policies, or how many of those who bought policies were previously uninsured. For that, I said, we will have to wait for Census Bureau data, which offer the best assessment of the insurance status of the whole population... I stand corrected: These data won't be available at all. Ever.-- Megan McArdle, Bloomberg View.
