Remember when Joe Biden was pushing higher taxes on the "wealthy" because it is the patriotic duty of everyone earning $200k to pay more? Well, he’s back and defending tax hikes again, only "patriotism" has given way to another "ism" that I’m not allowed to mention because it’s allegedly racist to do so:

"It’s a simple proposition to us: Everyone is entitled to adequate medical health care," Biden says. "If you call that a ‘redistribution of income’ — well, so be it. I don’t call it that. I call it just being fair — giving the middle class taxpayers an even break that the wealthy have been getting."

When the reporter points out that the top 20 percent of earners generate 55.7 percent of pretax income but pay 69.3% of federal taxes, Biden still insists that making them pay more is "fair."
"Taxes have been lowered for the wealthy considerably over the years," he says. "It’s about time we get a little tax equity here."

Equity?  Try these numbers from Kevin Hassett at Bloomberg:

In a study published in 2007, the Tax Foundation examined the tax burdens and government spending receipts across income groups. It found that for every dollar it sent to Washington, the lowest quintile of the income distribution received $14.76 in government spending. By comparison, the highest quintile –at that time, those making more than $99,500 — received just 32 cents for every dollar paid in federal taxes.

Someone needs to explain to me what liberals mean when they say "fair."  If you earn 56 percent of the money but pay 69 percent of the taxes, you’re paying 23 percent more of tax bill than your share. Meanwhile, the bottom half of tax filers pay less than 4 percent of federal income taxes.  And the O-bots think they’re paying too much?

Why should the 50 percent of us who are paying 96 percent of the taxes accept ANY tax increase? Why should folks working two jobs be stuck paying insurance for a neighbor who’s paying no income taxes and is already getting taxpayer kickbacks from stimulus checks and government programs?  Can someone explain to that taxpaying chump how this is "fair?"

I guess you’d have to be as smart as Joe Biden to answer that question.
