A Wellesley woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after she crashed through a fence and into the side of a house just outside of Wellesley Square.
According to eyewitnesses and police, the 85-year-old woman sped through the municipal lot on Waban Street before jumping the curb and crashing in to the facade along the side of the house.
“She had some trouble in the lot and just accelerated,” said Jennifer Lee, who owns the home at 10 Waban St.
I love that. “She had some trouble.” Another witness said “She couldn’t stop.” Yeah, because stopping a car is so “troublesome.” I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had to wrestle my Jeep Patriot to the curb…
There’s only one “trouble” here. And that is the trouble gutless Beacon Hill politicians have doing the right thing and requiring regular road tests for drivers over 75 years old.
Instead, we get this:
Mike Giorgio, another eye witness, was standing in front of Lee’s home with her when the crash occurred.
“We thought someone was robbing the bank and trying to get away,” he said of the noise the car made on the opposite side of the lot. “It was pretty intense.”
But the same Massachusetts liberals who have no problem requiring you to buy health insurance and will force you to give up your styrofoam cups and plastic shopping bags WON’T require a test for elderly people to operate a two-ton killing machine on the public streets.
