Tea Party Anger: It’s Not About Race, Part XXXVI

sign govt gone wild

For lunatic liberals and media morons who still can’t figure out why the American people are angry, here’s a little story out of Rhode Island that maybe—just maybe—you can get your mind around:

CENTRAL FALLS — Police Chief Joseph P. Moran III “retired” two weeks ago from the Police Department, and will be drawing a pension while still working as chief for at least the next five years.

Moran’s decision, and the city retirement board’s unanimous approval March 31 of the pension request, means that Moran will continue to be paid his approximately $72,000 salary under the terms of his chief’s contract as well as getting an annual city pension equal to 60 percent of that pay, about $43,000 a year, for a total payout of about $115,000…

Moran, who issued a news release announcing his pension, said he made the move so that he would be eligible to receive the approximately $35,000 accumulated sick-day payout he was due under the current plan, but which he could lose in the future if a bill to ban such payments is approved by General Assembly.[emphasis added]

You may remember Central Falls as the low-income, one-square-mile city whose schools suck so bad the entire staff is scheduled to be fired. Now they have a Police Chief who’ll be paid $115,000 to patrol that square mile, just so he can avoid pension reforms that would cost him ANOTHER $35,000.

Take this story, MSNBC, and multiply it to city, state and federal governments a thousand times over. Throw in the $92 million we’re blowing on stylin’ office space for the IRS in Andover and the $200 million Taj Ma-High School in Newton—not to mention the $1 trillion stimulus plan itself.

Now tell the taxpayers who’ve seen these stories day in and day out that you’re handing control of their health care system to these same government idiots—and you’re raising our taxes to do it—and how are we supposed to react?

We’ve got two choices: Either “I’m Mad As Hell,” or “Thank You, Sir, May I Have Another?”

I, for one, will not be bending over and taking it.
