From independent (and certainly NOT conservative) journalist Steve Kornacki, today:
Coakley's internal poll last night, I've been told, showed her barely ahead, 46 to 44 percent. The momentum clearly favors Brown, and one very smart Massachusetts Democrat I know told me this morning that "this may be too far gone to recover." [emphasis added]
Is it true? Well, it would certainly explain why the Coakley campaign was cheering a poll earlier today showing her with a modest 8-point lead.
I’m not questioning Mr. Kornacki’s reporting, but I’d like to see this confirmed somewhere else. Meanwhile I’d urge all Scott Brown’s supporters to follow his advice: “I always run like I’m 30 points down.”
UPDATE! Both the Cook Political Report and Rothenberg Political Report call this race a “toss-up.” That was absolutely unimaginable just 10 days ago.

"The truth is something [Warren] probably prefers not to confront. Harvard doesn’t come calling just because you’re a smart lawyer and a terrific teacher — not with Warren’s modest, Oklahoma upbringing and non-Ivy League education. She is not your typical Harvard professor. At a certain point, when the law school was under pressure to promote diversity, she represented a three-fer: a great lawyer with a national profile, a woman, and a minority, at least by virtue of family lore.
