First it was “pro-life” Boston College inviting Weather Underground founder Bill Ayers to brag about how he regretted not setting off more bombs.
Now this from the enlightened pacifists of UMass-Amherst:
NYC's Most Prolific Bomber to Speak at UMass
His United Freedom Front set off more bombs in New York, its suburbs and all the way up to Boston than any other terrorists. And now the ringleader, Raymond Luc Levasseur, is the headline guest at a University of Massachusetts symposium on social change November 12 at the main campus in Amherst.
"This is just a rip-off of the taxpayers," says David Jones, President of the union representing New Jersey State Troopers.
Jones is especially upset because a co-founder of the UFF, Thomas Manning, shot and killed a buddy of Jones, Trooper Philip Lamonaco back in 1981…He was convicted in several of the bombings and robberies, but was released on parole back in 2004.
"As long as he is out speaking he is activating that cause, and that cause could in fact (end with) the death of another police officer," says Mrs. Lamonaco, the mother of 3 children.
Now I realize that under the new Ayers standards of American liberalism, if you didn’t actually shoot the cop yourself or pack the nails in the pipe bomb, you’re completely innocent. But Levasseur was the FOUNDER of the UFF and, unlike Ayers (who by his own admission got off on a technicality) was convicted and sent to prison. What do the anti-violence, left-wing loonies of UMass have to say about it?
Part of the mission of the colloquium is to have speakers “whose activity in the past speaks to the present. I don’t know any issue that’s more important than (understanding) political violence,” Robert Cox [the school official who invited Levasseur] said. Growing up in a Quaker family, Cox said “I’m far away from any violent activity.”
“We don’t have to condone (violence), but trying to understand that seems immensely important,” he said.
Gee, I wonder how the 22 people injured by a UFF bomb in Boston feel about it?
No matter. We must be tolerant above all, even if that means tolerating a violent Marxist terrorist:
UMass spokesman Edward F. Blaguszewski said the university condemns the violent actions the group was involved in but “understanding how and why people take different paths to seek social change are important. We can learn his story and (understand) how he was motivated. I think is relevant to how we grapple with the issues (today.)”
One way to “grapple” might be to tell bombers, killers and terrorists that they lose their place at the table of civil discussion, that they’re not welcome at universities, that there’s some, oh I dunno, CONSEQUENCE to the decision to turn to violence?
Or you could invite the Marxist terrorists from prison, the jihadists from Gitmo, then all join in a rally against the US flag in the center of Amherst.
The insanity continues….

The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama overread his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.
