"Wha Hoppen?"

You can always count on Gov. Patrick to put the public good ahead of partisan....what?

Gov. Deval Patrick continued a staunch defense of Lt. Gov. Tim Murray on Thursday as questions persisted about his mysterious November car crash and his relationship with Michael McLaughlin, a former housing authority director who is being investigated for questionable fundraising practices and allegedly lying about his income.

“I know this guy’s integrity, and I know his compassion and I know his dedication to the work and to good government,” Patrick said, arguing that Murray expressed “genuine” betrayal when he learned of McLaughlin’s alleged improprieties.

In fact, Murray had a reported 193 phone calls to/from McLaughlin in which to express his genuine betrayal to this political hack who used his $360,000/year job to raise money for Murray. But somehow that “outrage” never appeared until now.

Meanwhile, Tim Murray still refuses to explain his blatant lies about the night he was out “surveying storm damage” at 100 mph in the dark.

Everything you need to know—or, more accurately, be reminded of—about Gov. Patrick’s ethical standards is in this story.
