Not for rational people. But we’re not talking about rational people, we’re talking about UMass-Amherst liberals.
Which is why “NYC’s Most Prolific Bomber,” the terrorist whose organization killed a NJ cop, tried to kill to MA cops, and who injured 22 Bostonians WILL be speaking on the taxpayer’s dime at UMASS.
A fuming Gov. Deval Patrick is taking on University of Massachusetts officials who now say they must allow a convicted terror bomber to speak on campus because of “academic freedom” - even after angry cops thought the event had been stopped.
“Gov. Patrick is outraged and extremely disappointed at reports that the University of Massachusetts has again extended a speaking invitation to Raymond Luc Levasseur,” said Patrick spokesman Joe Landolfi.
The president of UMass says he doesn’t want the guy on campus either, but “Now UMass officials say anti-censorship rules leave them no choice but to let Levasseur speak, even in a campus building.”
I’m sorry, what was that? “Anti-censorship rules?” Enforced by who—the NCAA? Stop a terrorist from coming to a tax-funded event, and you lose two draft picks for the hockey team? Get docked points in the “Best Party School” rankings?
I tried to explain this (using very small words so far-Left kooks could follow along) during the Bill Ayers/BC story: This has NOTHING to do with censorship. Nobody cares in the least about Levasseur’s opinions, ideas or philosophy. Trust me—no matter how big an idiot this loony is, the kids at UMass here stuff even more kooky every day.
And no rational person takes any of Bill Ayer’s far-Left educational theories seriously, but they’re widely available in college education programs around America.
This isn’t about ideas. It’s about actions. When you decide to “debate” issues by blowing people up, you lose your place at the free speech table. Period.
So we’re back to the same question we started with: How many cops do you have to kill before Massachusetts liberals stop inviting you to their parties?

“To me, taxes have never been about the money. It’s been about power and who’s in charge and who’s in control.”
