"Today is the day that is going to rank with the day we passed the civil rights bill in 1964," said Rep. John Dingell of Michigan, a member of Congress since 1955. "Today we're doing something that ranks with what we did with Social Security or Medicare. This is a day of which we can all be proud if we vote for that legislation."
Uh huh. And what do Social Security and Medicare have in common? They're both far more expensive than first promised, they have far more citizens relying on them than first planned. Oh--and they're both going broke.
Or to quote that supergenius of finance, Barney Frank: "Medicare is NOT going broke. It just needs more money."
And now Democrats want a THIRD unsustainable, overpriced, tax-hike driving, debt-creating government program so it can go broke, too?
Perfect.

"The truth is something [Warren] probably prefers not to confront. Harvard doesn’t come calling just because you’re a smart lawyer and a terrific teacher — not with Warren’s modest, Oklahoma upbringing and non-Ivy League education. She is not your typical Harvard professor. At a certain point, when the law school was under pressure to promote diversity, she represented a three-fer: a great lawyer with a national profile, a woman, and a minority, at least by virtue of family lore.
